Job summary

Pioneer Valley Solutions is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain healthcare technology solutions. This remote role is based in the Pioneer Valley, with opportunities for in-person collaboration and cross-functional teamwork with designers and product managers.

You will lead backend development, review code, mentor junior engineers, and drive best practices. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience, strong Java/Python/C#, and experience with Agile

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, or C#, with Spring, Django, or .NET.
• Experience with AWS or Azure and cloud-native architectures.
• Strong problem-solving and creative thinking.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Passion for healthcare industry impact.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions for our clients in the healthcare technology industry.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand client requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, and advocate for their adoption within the team.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex software issues, and work closely with clients to resolve any problems that may arise.
• Contribute to the development of our engineering best practices and processes, and help shape the future of our software development team.
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure the reliability and availability of our clients' software systems.
