Job summary

Symbotic LLC is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Fleet Controls team. You will lead design and development of high‑performance software that orchestrates fleets of autonomous robots in automated warehouses across multiple sites.

You will mentor engineers, tackle performance challenges, and help shape scalable control systems. A strong background in C#, asynchronous programming, and robotics is essential for this role in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
• 5+ years of software development experience; 1+ year in technical leadership.
• Proficient in object-oriented design and C#; asynchronous/multithreaded programming.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop real-time, high-performance software for fleets of autonomous robots.
• Analyze fleet performance and improve KPIs.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead technical efforts across projects.

Job Summary

Symbotic is seeking a talented Staff Software Engineer for the Fleet Controls team. In this role you will lead the design and development of high‑performance applications that orchestrate fleets of autonomous mobile robots within automated warehouse environments, building scalable, reliable, and efficient control systems across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop real‑time, high‑performance software for managing fleets of mobile robots.
• Analyze fleet performance and contribute to projects that improve key business metrics, customer requirements, and company KPIs.
• Develop high‑quality, robust software in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead technical efforts across projects.
• Identify and address root causes of software performance issues.
• Develop and maintain unit and system‑level tests for production software.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience, including at least 1 year in technical leadership or team lead role.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mathematics, or a related STEM field.
• Proficiency in object‑oriented design and programming concepts; C# strongly preferred.
• Experience with asynchronous or multithreaded programming.
• Familiarity with event‑driven architectures, messaging systems, and communication protocols such as RabbitMQ, MQTT, or gRPC.
• Exposure to robotic‑related technologies (e.g., path planning, embedded systems) is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to drive or fly to client and customer locations; willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

Benefits

• Base pay range: $149,000.00 – $204,600.00 (may vary).
