Job summary

Waymo is seeking experienced software engineers for the Planner Evaluation team to enhance the performance of its autonomous driving technology. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in statistics, languages like C++ and Python, and experience within the AV industry.

Responsibilities include developing signals for performance measurement, utilizing simulations, and collaborating with various teams. The salary range is between $251,000 and $310,000 USD, with benefits and bonuses available.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years of industry experience with navigating and modifying a large code base.
• Performing statistical analyses and building data processing pipelines.
• Quant/data fluency is a top requirement.

Responsibilities

• Develop signals to measure the performance and driving qualities of the Waymo driver.
• Use simulation creatively and mine real-world driving logs to measure driving performance.
• Collaborate with other engineers and data scientists to deliver evaluation products.
