Waymo is seeking a data-minded software engineer or data scientist for the Planner Evaluation team in a hybrid role. You will develop signals to measure the Waymo driver’s performance using statistics, physics, algorithms, and machine learning, and you will mine real-world logs and simulations to quantify driving quality.
Experience with large code bases in C++, Python, and SQL, along with statistics and data processing pipelines, is essential.

The Planner Evaluation team works on one of the key challenges in autonomous driving: measuring and improving the quality of the software that drives the car. We are looking for experienced data-minded software engineers and data scientists to help us improve how we characterize and evaluate changes to the Onboard software stack (Planner, Perception, etc).
