Job summary

Lyric, remote in the US, is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to design and implement mission-critical services, lead architectural decisions, and mentor engineers while staying hands-on.

You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver scalable, secure APIs and systems, drive performance improvements, and ensure reliability.

Requirements: 8+ years in software engineering; backend/full-stack fluency (Java, Go, Python, TS); cloud and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years of software engineering experience with large-scale systems.
• Proficiency in one or more backend/full-stack languages (e.g. Java, Go, Python, TypeScript).
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, APIs, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration (Kubernetes), and observability practices.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement core services, systems, and APIs with scalability, security, and maintainability in mind.
• Lead design/code reviews and contribute to documentation and RFCs.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and promote best practices across teams.
