Job summary

ThrivePass is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own the technical health and evolution of a core system. This senior role requires leadership in architecture, scalability, and reliability as the platform grows.

You will drive design across backend and frontend, mentor engineers, and ensure coding standards and observability are maintained. The role emphasizes end-to-end ownership and maintaining system integrity at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven track record owning and scaling production systems.
• Design for reliability, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
• Strong communication to engage business and product teams.
• Experience with frontend-backend integration and API contracts.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end technical health of the system, including scalability, reliability, performance, and uptime.
• Define, document, and evolve system architecture with clear diagrams and documentation.
• Lead architectural decisions for new features, refactors, and migrations.
• Mentor engineers through design and code reviews and provide guidance.
• Design and build scalable backend and full-stack systems, and ensure platform improvements.
