Join Intuit’s PDX AppFabric team as a Staff Software Engineer for GenAI agentic capability development in the Unified Interactions Platform (UPI) team

The UPI platform offers a centralized interactions store for App, AI Agents, and User interactions. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment tackling challenging engineering problems where self-motivated engineers can lead innovation and make a significant impact, this role is for you.

Responsibilities

1. Lead Big Data and GenAI agentic product development by gathering requirements and driving technical decisions.
2. Drive new architecture on GenAI agentic-based next-generation platform, incorporating emerging domain tenets.
3. Contribute hands-on engineering expertise, solving tough technical problems and producing high-quality code.
4. Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
5. Guide other engineers on high-scale distributed computing challenges.
6. Define, implement, and automate deployment of highly available, production workloads with zero downtime, including operational metrics for monitoring.
7. Act as a technical subject matter expert, mentor engineers, and lead small teams on complex programming and design problems.
8. Engage with open-source communities and collaborate with third-party partners and contributors.
9. Promote the product through blogs, social media, demos, and conference presentations.

Intuit offers a competitive compensation package with performance-based rewards. The expected base pay range is:

Bay Area, California: $197,000 - $265,500

Minimum Qualifications

• MS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of experience, including at least 3 years in a technical leadership role in product development.
• Experience in four or more of the following areas: Public Cloud, Distributed Systems, Big Data, Event Processing, GenAI Tools, Agentic Architecture, Vector Stores, Graph Databases, Kubernetes, Semantic Clustering.
• Proficiency in building distributed, large-scale software platforms using Java and Python.
• Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Motivated team player with a proactive, results-oriented attitude.
• Practical knowledge of distributed service design, messaging protocols, caching strategies, and autonomous software practices.
• Passion for data-driven decision making and automation.
• Excellent coding, architecture, debugging, and performance measurement skills.
• Ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
