Rippling is seeking a Staff Engineer for Payroll Payments to lead the unified processing core that powers payroll money movement globally. You will shape architecture, implement scalable payment instructions, and ensure data integrity across services.

You will partner with Product, Risk, Accounting, Tax, Payroll, and Ops to deliver durable platform capabilities. This role emphasizes mentoring and hands-on driving end-to-end delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with technical leadership.
• Experience building large-scale distributed backend systems.
• Strong Python and Django proficiency and system design skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical architecture for payroll payments engine across countries.
• Own end-to-end delivery from design to production and monitoring.
• Drive roadmap, performance, reliability, and architectural refactors.
• Tackle ambiguous challenges with concrete plans and measurable outcomes.
• Mentor engineers and advocate best practices for code quality and observability.
