Job summary

Rippling in Seattle is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to anchor the Money Movement & Treasury architecture hub. You will own the design and implementation of a deterministic ledger system that manages billions in annual transaction volume.

You will mentor a pod of senior engineers, collaborate with the Payments Data, Tax, and Accounting teams, and ensure reliability across the platform.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with backend and distributed systems.
• Experience designing large-scale, fault-tolerant architectures.
• Ability to operate in ambiguity and own technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Architect the General Ledger and reconciliation systems for determinism.
• Unify primitives across payment systems to track every dollar.
• Build a reconciliation replay and testing framework with Payments Data team.
• Anchor the Seattle site and mentor senior engineers on the execution layer.
• Collaborate with Payments Data, Tax, and Accounting teams on regulatory needs.
