Job summary

GE HealthCare is seeking an experienced software engineer to design and develop embedded software for neonatal ICU and delivery devices. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to translate system requirements into robust software components, focusing on data connectivity, interoperability, and secure solutions.

In a fast-paced AI-enhanced agile environment, you’ll participate in design reviews, ensure security and performance, and contribute to software that enables real-time patient data

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related STEM field.
6+ years software engineering in a product development team.
2+ years data connectivity and healthcare interoperability (HL7, FHIR).
1+ year HL7 interfaces and healthcare data exchange workflows.
1+ year designing secure connected systems (auth, encryption, device/network hardening).
Experience with UI/application layer development (Qt, web UI).

Responsibilities

Develop embedded software for neonatal ICU and labor & delivery devices.
Collaborate with software engineers and cross-disciplinary teams to translate requirements into software components.
Work in a fast-paced AI-enhanced agile-scrum environment.
Conduct design reviews to meet security, reliability, and performance needs.
Develop integrated software products with quality through static analysis and reviews.
Ensure compliance with medical device quality practices and standards.
