Job summary

Walmart Inc. is seeking a Staff Full Stack Software Engineer to join the Walmart Marketplace Engineering team in Sunnyvale, CA. You will architect and build modern web applications and scalable backend services powering third-party seller experiences.

You will mentor engineers, drive architecture decisions, and deliver AI-powered workflows and payments capabilities across Azure, GCP, and private cloud environments.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
• Backend experience with Java (JDK 21), Spring Boot, REST APIs, Kafka, Cassandra.
• Experience building cloud-native applications (Azure, GCP).
• Experience designing or integrating AI-powered workflows or Agentic AI solutions.
• Experience in payments, fintech, marketplace, or international payment platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and development of modern web applications using React TypeScript and backend services.
• Design intuitive user experiences for complex payment workflows with focus on accessibility and performance.
• Build scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, Cassandra for marketplace platforms.
• Lead platform capabilities supporting Marketplace Capital products including lending and cashback workflows.
• Design and implement AI-powered workflows to accelerate delivery and developer productivity.
• Build reusable frontend components and shared libraries to improve velocity across teams.
• Develop cloud-native apps across Azure, GCP, and private clouds with reliability and observability in mind.
• Mentor engineers across frontend, backend and full-stack teams.
