Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector in Melbourne, Florida, seeks a Staff Software Engineer (Infrastructure) to join Global Surveillance Division. Responsibilities include containerization, OS hardening, and securing network configurations, with lifecycle software development and DoD collaboration.

The role requires hands-on experience with virtualization, automation, and C/C++ in Linux, plus the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance and Special Program Access.

Qualifications

• Must have a STEM bachelor’s degree and substantial software engineering experience.
• Development experience with OO languages (C++, Java, etc.).
• Experience on Linux and Windows environments, with debugging.
• Familiarity with Agile processes and configuration management.
• Knowledge of Atlassian tools, Git, Confluence, and security practices.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II or Security+ certification preferred.
• Ability to obtain/maintain DoD Secret Clearance and special program access.

Responsibilities

• Containerize and secure applications; harden OS and network configurations.
• Deploy, automate, maintain, and improve software infrastructure.
• Participate in full software lifecycle from requirements to delivery.
• Collaborate with PMs, vendors, and government customers; communicate clearly.
