Job summary

Symbotic is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for its Industrial Control Tools team. You will design and build automation for industrial control systems, focusing on PLC/AI-enabled tooling and scalable software solutions.

The role involves mentoring teammates and collaborating across agile teams with occasional client travel. Requirements include a CS/CE degree and 8+ years of software design experience, plus strong C# and PLC capabilities.

Qualifications

8+ years of software design and implementation experience.
5+ years of professional C# development.
Proven AI-driven development experience with Agentic AI.

Responsibilities

Design and develop industrial control system automation for commissioning, manufacturing and PLC automation under AI-assisted programming.
Drive PLC and HMI auto code generation from AOI libraries/ Ignition templates for Industry Control R&D.
Automate PLC code testing, optimization and remote deployment using Agentic AI.
Build scalable, maintainable software systems and analyze root causes of production issues.
Integrate with tools, services and APIs for data retrieval and reporting.
Lead tasks, mentor juniors, and collaborate in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Communicate with internal and external customers; travel up to 10%.
