Symbotic in Wilmington, MA, HQ is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for Industrial Controls Tools. You will design scalable industrial control automation and tooling, drive AI-enabled PLC/ HMI auto code generation, and automate testing and deployment within an agile environment.

The role requires a strong background in C#, OO design, and AI-driven development, with optional PLC experience and familiarity with Rockwell and Ignition integrations. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

Requires a college degree in CS/CE or related field.
Minimum 8 years of software design/implementation experience.
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in C#.
Demonstrated AI-driven development experience and Agentic AI.
PLC programming experience and testing/integration tools preferred.

Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable industrial control system automation and tooling.
Drive PLC and HMI auto code generation based on AOI libraries/Ignition templates.
Automate PLC code testing, optimization, and remote deployment with Agentic AI.
Analyze production issues to provide timely, quality solutions.
Integrate with tools, services, and APIs for data retrieval and reporting.
Mentor junior team members and participate in Agile/Scrum processes.
