Job summary
Symbotic is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Industrial Control Tools team to advance automation and AI-powered initiatives for industrial control systems. You will lead development, mentor peers, and collaborate with customers in a fast-paced Agile environment.
The role emphasizes designing scalable software, integrating with PLC/HMI tooling, and optimizing deployment and testing using AI-driven approaches. Up to 10% travel may be required.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of software design and implementation experience.
- Minimum 5 years of professional C# development.
- Proven AI-driven development and Agentic AI applications.
- Experience with PLC programming is highly preferred.
- Experience with Rockwell and Ignition for integration and testing.
- Experience with microservice development and DB schema.
- Background in Networking and Electrical Engineering.
- Strong multi-tasking and customer-facing abilities.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop industrial control system automation.
- Drive PLC and HMI auto code generation based on AOI libraries/Ignition templates.
- Automate PLC code testing, optimization, and remote deployment leveraging Agentic AI.
- Design scalable and maintainable software systems.
- Analyze production issue root causes and provide timely solutions.
- Integrate with tools/services/APIs for data retrieval and reporting.
- Mentor junior team members and lead assigned tasks.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
- Work in a dynamic Agile/Scrum environment.
- Travel up to 10%.
