Job summary

Garmin International seeks a Staff Software Engineer - GNSS/INS for our Boulder, CO site on the Core Platform Technology team. You will develop GNSS and INS based positioning solutions for embedded systems, applying advanced algorithms and rigorous testing to deliver robust software.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate across Garmin product segments, and drive innovation in positioning technology. This role emphasizes research, feasibility studies, and bringing practical solutions to market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math, Physics or related field with substantial experience.
• Experience with GNSS positioning concepts, error sources, and estimation techniques (least squares, Kalman).
• Proficient in C/C++ for embedded, real-time environments.
• Ability to script data analyses with Python or MATLAB and automate processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and document embedded software in C/C++ for GNSS/INS positioning.
• Lead peer reviews and collaborate across teams on algorithms and architecture.
• Mentor junior engineers and guide projects through to delivery.
• Research and prototype new positioning technologies and explore business impact.
