PEI Group is seeking a Staff Software Engineer in New York to design, build, and operate scalable backend services across a global footprint. You will shape system architecture, write upfront specs, and drive delivery end-to-end while staying hands-on across the stack using Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS, PHP, and Python.

You will partner with product and engineering leads to translate business needs into technical plans, raise engineering standards, and improve observability and reliability across

Formación

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience with node.js, TypeScript, NestJS, PHP, and Python.
• Understanding of observability tooling.
• Strong communication: write specs, lead design discussions, explain trade-offs.
• Experience with TypeScript, Cloud Platform CWS, infrastructure-as-code, spec-driven development, and Headless CMS is highly desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and operate backend services and infrastructure that scale globally.
• Shape system architecture for next generation platforms across regions and teams.
• Write clear technical specifications and drive work from spec to release.
• Collaborate with product and engineering leads to translate business needs into plans.
• Raise engineering standards and best practices across the team.
• Lead design discussions and explain technical trade-offs to engineers and non-engineers.
• Remain hands-on across the stack using Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS, PHP, and Python.
• Improve service reliability and observability through strong tooling.
