Job summary

HHAeXchange is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead full-stack development across C#/.NET back end, TypeScript/Angular front end, and database work on SQL Server and PostgreSQL. The role focuses on technical leadership without people management, delivering reliable features, modernizing legacy functionality, and upholding HIPAA and WCAG standards in a regulated healthcare environment.

EST/CST time zones in the US apply.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Healthcare software experience with PHI under HIPAA.
• Strong backend with C#/.NET and REST APIs.
• Frontend with JavaScript/TypeScript and Angular.
• Experience with SQL Server or PostgreSQL and data modeling.
• Cloud experience on AWS and CI/CD practices.
• Secure development and WCAG accessibility awareness.

Responsibilities

• Full-stack delivery across back end, front end, and database.
• Technical lead for team work; design docs and task breakdown.
• Develop healthcare data exchange using HL7, FHIR, X12 EDI.
• Modernize legacy functionality with automated tests and phased releases.
• Maintain code quality, reviews, and maintainable architectures.
• Monitor performance and optimize data queries.
• Uphold HIPAA, PHI protection, and WCAG compliance.
• Investigate defects, document root cause and fixes.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, and other engineers to plan work.
