Job summary

Addepar is seeking a staff software engineer for the Files Platform team in the United States. You will build and scale the enterprise file management platform, handling storage, permissions, and third-party integrations for wealth management firms.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of backend experience and are proficient in Java, Python, or C++, with strong collaboration across teams. AWS experience and file-system integration know-how are a plus.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related field.
• Proficiency with server-side languages such as Java, Python, or C++.
• Experience with relational databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server.
• Ability to lead complex projects across multiple teams.
• Bonus: experience building scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Bonus: familiarity with File System vendors.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and maintain backend services for enterprise-scale file storage, permissions, and integrations.
• Design and build event-driven systems for real-time permission propagation across Addepar's data graph.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, security, and compliance on data access controls.
• Contribute to migration efforts with zero-downtime rollouts for production firms.
• Mentor engineers and promote best practices.
