Job summary

NAVEX is seeking a Staff Software Engineer in a hybrid role based in Houston to join our Product Engineering team and help deliver high-quality platform services. You will collaborate with senior engineers to design, implement, and evolve software while aligning with security and performance standards.

You will mentor teammates, contribute to architecture decisions, and drive testing and automation to ensure reliable software delivery.

Qualifications

5+ years of full-stack software development experience, ideally in a SaaS or microservice-based system.

Responsibilities

Work alongside senior software engineers to develop new features and enhancements in our platform services space.
Participate in elaboration and design sessions to understand and refine requirements.
Complete complex projects and stories with a solid understanding of the codebase.
Research, define, and implement best practices, standards, and new technologies.
Contribute to selecting the appropriate software development approach for projects.
Build unit tests and automation test suites to ensure high quality.
Collaborate with the scrum team during sprint planning and daily standups; share accomplishments in sprint reviews.
Provide constructive and honest feedback during code reviews and sprint retrospectives.
Work with Enterprise Architects to design our services.
