Syllo, a fast-growing provider of a unified litigation platform, is seeking a Staff Engineer to own Platforms, Frameworks, Tools, Patterns and Architecture. This role is remote-friendly in the United States.

You will design cloud infrastructure with Kubernetes and Pub/Sub, optimize data pipelines with the AI team, and drive reliability, security, and cost-efficiency across the platform. You’ll mentor engineers and shape the future of legal tech.

Formación

• Proven experience designing scalable cloud infrastructure.
• Expertise with Kubernetes, Kafka, PostgreSQL, and Elasticsearch.
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
• Strong Linux system administration and networking.
• Ability to design resilient, autoscaled cloud platforms.
• Open-source engagement and code contribution.
• Security-focused data protection in cloud environments.
• Experience with AI data pipelines is a plus.

About the Role

We're looking for a Staff Engineer who will be a key member of a new Systems team at Syllothat will own Platforms, Frameworks, Tools, Patterns, and Architecture. This person will not onlycontribute directly to technical design and implementation but also foster a collaborative,high-performing environment where engineers can grow, learn, and thrive.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud-based infrastructure using Kubernetes, Pub/Sub, and other relevant technologies.


• Collaborate with our AI team to optimize data pipelines and integrate AI technologies toremove performance bottlenecks.


• Refactor existing systems to enhance scalability, including transforming statefulcomponents into stateless ones, and applying extensive autoscaling and auto-repairmechanisms.


• Lead efforts on data ingestion and export processes, improving efficiency and reducing
  dependencies on legacy technologies.


• Drive platform reliability initiatives, including enhancing alerting, health checking, andincident management.


• Champion continuous improvement efforts, including cost control measures andtechnological upgrades.


• Oversee the development of internal tools that streamline workflows and reduceduplication of effort in development environments.


• Ensure the platform meets rigorous testing and security standards to maintain dataintegrity and security.


• Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure meeting SLA

Qualifications

• Core software engineering skills, including proficiency in languages such as Python andRuby.


• Strong system administration experience, including fluency with Linux, networking, andbash scripting.Proficiency with GCP.


• Proficiency with cloud tools and distributed systems, such as Kubernetes, Kafka,Postgres, and Elasticsearch, or equivalent technologies.


• Demonstrated expertise in Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform.


• Ability to design and implement scalable, resilient cloud infrastructure.


• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage effectively with bothtechnical and non-technical stakeholders.


• Experience addressing scaling challenges and resource contention in distributedsystems.


• Engagement with the open-source community, including tool research, bug reporting,and code contribution.


• Expertise in cloud data security

Salary Range ($190- $230K) plus health insurance and equity.

$190,000-$230,000 USD
