Job summary

Chainguard is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for the Customer Platform, primarily remote in the US. You will own end-to-end features, design robust Go backends, and integrate with multiple Chainguard teams.

You will mentor engineers and help shape a data-driven, outcomes-focused roadmap. You will work on entitlements, policies, and onboarding services, with AI-powered product experiences and strong emphasis on scalable, production-ready APIs.

Qualifications

Production Go experience.
Strong ownership of API design and backend systems at scale; you've shipped and operated them in production.
Experience working across multiple engineering teams to align on technical standards, integration patterns, and shared infrastructure.
Comfort operating in ambiguity with diagnosis, recommendation, and path forward.

Responsibilities

Own features end-to-end from design to rollout and iteration in partnership with Product Management and Chainguard teams.
Design, build, and evolve backend systems (Go, REST/gRPC APIs) powering entitlements, policies, and onboarding services.
Serve as the primary technical interface between Customer Platform and other Chainguard teams and build integration paths.
Extend Chainguard's AI foundation into customer-facing product experiences.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers; help the team move from ambiguity to clear outcomes.
Contribute to a product-driven roadmap with deadlines and measurable outcomes.
