Walmart Global Tech's Unified Recommendations Platform team seeks a Staff Software Engineer to deliver scalable platform capabilities and lead the full software development lifecycle across design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

You will mentor engineers, drive cloud-native systems, integrate AI/ML components, and collaborate with stakeholders to measure success while advancing architectural excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native architectures (microservices, containers).
• Experience in API design and DevOps practices.
• Experience integrating AI/ML components.

Responsibilities

• Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap milestones.
• Drive full software development lifecycle activities such as coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient systems.
• Lead system design reviews to validate quality and alignment with architectural best practices.
• Build AI-driven applications integrating ML components and automation features.
• Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering excellence.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and track success metrics.
