Job summary

Walmart seeks a Staff Software Engineer to lead scalable platform capabilities, including infrastructure, tooling, and AI/ML frameworks. You’ll drive the full software lifecycle, mentor teams, and shape architectural direction across the Associate AI Platform.

The role focuses on cloud-native design, developer productivity, and delivering intelligent experiences for Walmart associates worldwide, with a strong emphasis on quality, scalability, and innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field or 6 years of experience in software engineering.
• Experience delivering cloud-native platforms and scalable systems.
• Strong background in system design, APIs, and engineering excellence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap milestones.
• Drive full software development lifecycle activities such as coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient systems.
• Conduct system design reviews to validate feasibility and alignment with architectural standards.
• Build AI-driven applications and integrate ML components to enable automation and intelligent features.
• Mentor engineers, influence architectural decisions, and promote engineering excellence through documentation and knowledge sharing.
