Job summary

Google is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for the Cloud AI Data Engineering team to design robust data pipelines and real-time metrics. You will influence data infrastructure, security, and governance across large-scale datasets.

You will collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and product managers to deliver scalable infrastructure powering Gemini Enterprise and AI-driven products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience programming in C++, Java, Python, Kotlin or Go.
• 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
• Experience integrating generative AI tools or LLM interfaces into workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize highly scalable batch and streaming data pipelines to efficiently load enterprise data into Gemini Enterprise, ensuring cost-efficiency and data freshness.
• Develop high-performance data warehousing solutions, applying best practices in schema design and data modeling to support search, AI models, and analytics.
• Implement data governance, quality monitoring, and alerting systems to ensure the ongoing integrity and trustworthiness of the platform's data.
• Enforce strict data privacy and security policies, managing access controls and data wipeout procedures for all handled enterprise data.
• Partner with Data Scientists, Software Engineers, and Product Managers to define requirements and deliver data infrastructure that drives new product capabilities.
