Robinhood is seeking a Staff Software Engineer in Bellevue, WA to lead the Capacity & Efficiency Engineering team. You will own complex cloud-cost platforms, build cost attribution, forecasting, and automation that tightly couples infrastructure decisions with financial outcomes.

This role emphasizes hands-on leadership and cross-functional collaboration across finance, data science, and product engineering.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with data engineering, Spark or similar
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and capacity planning for cloud spend
• Familiarity with cloud billing data and savings plans is a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead capacity planning for a latency-sensitive production environment.
• Design scalable cost attribution and chargeback systems.
• Develop automated anomaly detection and governance tooling for cost management.
• Collaborate with Data Science to forecast spend and unit economics.
• Support AWS contracts and pricing strategies for cost efficiency.
• Apply AI-driven automation to cost operations and reporting.
