CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to design, build, and deliver cloud-based applications within a complex distributed system on Google Cloud Platform. You will influence architecture and guide teams to create scalable, secure solutions for cost estimation, navigation AI, and digital products.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product and data science, and ensure compliance with privacy and security standards while delivering high-impact healthcare decision

Qualifications

• 7+ years delivering enterprise-scale software in distributed systems.
• 5+ years in Java, Python, Go, or JavaScript.
• 5+ years building and operating cloud-based enterprise solutions.
• 5+ years designing modern microservices and scalable APIs.
• 3+ years CI/CD, automated testing, and DevOps.
• 3+ years containerization with Docker/Kubernetes.
• Experience applying AI/GenAI platforms in software products.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and delivery of scalable software in the Cost Estimation & Navigation AI portfolio.
• Guide architecture across distributed services, APIs, and platform components.
• Collaborate with product, data science, and engineering to translate priorities into solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, manage dependencies, and address tradeoffs.
• Build cloud-native apps, microservices, and APIs with modern patterns.
• Ensure non-functional requirements: performance, availability, security, and scalability.
• Evaluate architectures and improve reliability and cost efficiency.
• Lead PoC development for AI/GenAI capabilities relevant to the portfolio.
• Mentor engineers and drive engineering excellence through reviews.
• Communicate with stakeholders to align across teams and boundaries.
• Ensure regulatory, privacy, and security requirements are met (PII/PHI).
