Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior backend architect in the United States to lead as a project or system leader, coordinating engineers and driving technical direction for cloud-native Python-based services.

You will design scalable systems using microservices and serverless frameworks, define roadmaps, mentor engineers, and collaborate across Product, Infra, and Operations to deliver secure, high-availability solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR any equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience designing scalable, cloud-native backend systems using microservices and serverless frameworks.
• Experience defining technical roadmaps and aligning engineering initiatives with business goals.
• Experience providing technical leadership and mentorship.
• Proficiency with Python, Django, or Flask.
• Experience designing large-scale, fault-tolerant, high-availability backend systems.
• Knowledge of secure coding, encryption, access control, compliance, and data protection.
• Exposure to AWS, GCP, Azure, and IaC tools like Terraform or CDK preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Redis; event-driven architecture with SQS, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Pulsar preferred.

• Hands-on experience with Redis preferred
• Hands-on experience with event-driven architecture and SQS, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Pulsar preferred
• Contributions to open-source projects or developer communities preferred
