Job summary

RealWork Labs, Inc. in Austin, TX, is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead feature-level delivery on B2B-focused products.

You will drive architecture, data engineering, and cloud infrastructure with a focus on a MERN stack (TypeScript, React, NodeJS, MongoDB) and AWS, collaborating with Product Managers and Designers to translate PRDs and wireframes into working software. Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to turn technical requirements into an iterative development plan with clear goals and timelines and then lead a small team to successful, on-time delivery.
• Demonstrate a mindset of operational excellence and full SDLC ownership including migration/ rollout path, observability tooling, metrics capture and monitoring for a successful launch after dev completion.
• Attention to DX - track record of increasing team velocity, removing bottlenecks and automating processes to ensure top-tier delivery.
• Conversational fluency in AWS best practices, enterprise software design patterns, and event-driven architecture.
• Strong coding experience with TypeScript, React, NodeJS and MongoDB; hands-on with the product.
• Practical application of AI developer tools in daily engineering tasks.
• 8+ years experience building products in a startup environment (preferred).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science preferred.
• Mobile experience in Expo/React Native or fully native apps is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Lead feature-level implementation from scoping to delivery as part of a small pod or solo IC.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Principal Engineers to craft project plans and refine requirements.
• Ensure not just feature delivery but a clear migration/ rollout path and robust observability and monitoring.
• Drive improvements in developer experience and team velocity through automation and tooling.
• Work directly with stakeholders to refine technical requirements from business goals or user needs.
