We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer in the Architecture group at Bitwarden. This role involves contributing to the development of the product across mobile, web, and server components, working with a talented team and open-source community. The ideal candidate will take ownership of delivering features throughout the development lifecycle, influence technical strategy, and mentor others. This position is fully remote within the U.S., with no visa sponsorship offered.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in hands-on development of the Bitwarden product
• Communicate effectively across all organizational levels
• Guide development from conception to deployment, including code and architecture reviews, community engagement, and demonstrations
• Contribute bug fixes and review community pull requests
• Lead new product investment areas, delivering proof-of-concept or MVP projects, then hand off to domain teams
• Maintain and promote comprehensive system documentation
• Serve as a technical escalation point and knowledge resource
• Mentor and coach team members on solution design and implementation
• Advocate for improvements in product, process, and organization
