Job summary

Fulcrum, based in San Francisco, is building an AI platform to automate insurance broker drudgery. As a Staff Software Engineer — Product, you will develop core AI products, processing PDFs and Excel files, and building browser automation to integrate with legacy systems.

You will own 0→1 MVP development and 1→10 growth, shipping features that help brokers serve customers while improving margins. We seek a candidate with 7+ years of experience, strong TypeScript, and a bias for action.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong TypeScript proficiency (Python a plus).
• Proven track record of shipping user-focused products.
• Ability to work 5 days a week from SF office.

Responsibilities

• Develop complete features across frontend and backend layers of our application.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code with appropriate test coverage.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues across the technology stack.
• Optimize application performance and scalability.
• Own both product manager and software engineer responsibilities.
• Balance technical considerations with user needs and business goals.
• Incorporate customer feedback into product and features.
