Job summary

ID.me is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Member Support Applications Team in McLean, VA. You will lead AI-native enhancements, integrating LLMs and MCP to automate call-center workflows while coordinating with Rails, Go, and React components.

You will mentor engineers, drive secure, scalable architectures, and ensure compliance with IAM and data protection standards. This role emphasizes on-site collaboration and delivering AI-augmented authentication experiences.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in full-stack engineering.
• 1+ years of hands-on experience with LLM integration (Claude/OpenAI) and building agentic workflows.
• 5+ years of experience in Ruby on Rails, GoLang, and React/TypeScript.

Responsibilities

• AI Orchestration & Agent Design: Lead the technical vision for integrating LLMs (Claude) into internal member support apps and deploy autonomous agents.
• Product Evolution: Lead the technical vision for member support UI flows with AI-assisted tools.
• Shared Infrastructure: Develop shared UI components and API patterns for scalable verification workflows and AI automation.
• System Integrity: Ensure AI-driven automations comply with IAM, security, and data protection standards.
• Mentorship & Excellence: Mentor engineers on prompt engineering and modern full-stack practices.
• Instrumentation: Lead experiments and A/B tests for AI agent performance and fraud detection.
