Job summary

Redwood Materials is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own a domain of Redwood OS, the internal software platform that powers warehouse management, manufacturing, and ERP integration with Microsoft Dynamics 365. You will shape problems, design solutions, and ship them to production, working closely with business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Proven ability to own a problem space end to end with minimal direction.
• Strong Python and production React; experience on AWS.
• Deep understanding of API design, data modeling and service boundaries.
• Clear, concise technical writing and ability to justify design decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own a domain of Redwood OS end to end: shape the problem, design, ship, and operate in production.
• Turn ambiguous business asks into clear specifications for engineers and AI agents.
• Make tradeoff-aware design decisions across services, data models, APIs, and integrations.
• Maintain platform coherence as multiple engineers and agents evolve it.
• Debug production issues and improve system reliability.
• Mentor others and raise output through documentation and tooling.
• Work directly with on-site stakeholders 3 days/week with floor walks and demos.
