Intellibus seeks a Staff Software Engineer to lead technology-led transformation for a major U.S. grocery retailer. You will blend deep retail knowledge with executive-level client leadership and hands-on engineering, shaping scalable architectures and modernizing systems across digital and physical channels.

The role requires strong engineering excellence, consulting capabilities, and the ability to influence decisions across multiple teams in a hybrid Phoenix-area setting.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering, architecture, or enterprise tech with staff-level leadership.
• Strong background in retail, grocery, omnichannel, or transformation initiatives.
• Experience delivering complex enterprise apps, integrations, and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of AI transformation, generative AI, or AI-enabled enterprise solutions.
• Experience in consulting or partnering with senior business and tech stakeholders.
• Ability to lead architecture decisions and mentor senior engineers.
• Experience modernizing legacy systems for scalable, secure production apps.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and development of scalable enterprise apps.
• Define patterns, standards, and practices across distributed systems.
• Design and integrate REST and GraphQL APIs across platforms.
• Drive roadmaps, architecture reviews, and tech evaluations.
• Mentor engineers and align tech with retail business needs.
