Job summary

Google is seeking a software engineer to drive ML design and agentic AI initiatives within Google Workspace. You will lead critical projects, coordinate a distributed team, and advance model deployment, evaluation, and data processing for scalable AI solutions.

You will design, test, and enhance software across the stack while partnering with DeepMind and Workspace teams to deliver high-quality, reliable AI-powered workflows for billions of users.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years in software development across languages (e.g., C++, Python).
• 5 years leading ML design and optimizing ML infra (deployment, evaluation, data processing, debugging, tuning).
• 5 years testing and launching software products; 3 years in software design/architecture.
• 2 years with GenAI techniques or GenAI concepts (LLMs, multimodal, vision).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on high-impact projects.
• Coach a distributed team of engineers and set direction.
• Clarify ambiguous issues and integrate Agentic infrastructure with leadership.
• Partner with Workspace teams to ensure low-latency, reliable performance.
• Develop goals and roadmap for Agentic future with long-term health of autonomous protocols.

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• Experience developing agentic systems, including multi-agent architectures, Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration, and benchmarking for agentic reliability and safety (e.g., AgentBench, CLEAR).

US: $207000 - $300000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits
