Job summary

Verkada Inc. in San Mateo, CA is seeking a Staff+ Software Engineer for Agentic Software Security to scale security across the SDLC. You will author code daily, build security tools, and apply AI to automate security practices within Verkada’s product and infrastructure.

The role requires 7+ years in security-focused software engineering, a CS degree, and onsite work five days/week. This position offers competitive compensation and robust employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree or equivalent.
• Masters or PhD in security is a bonus.
• 7+ years of experience as a software engineer that has worked on security problems.
• Interest in security weaknesses, attacks, and mitigations.
• Experience leveraging AI as you build.
• Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week.

Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives to eliminate classes of vulnerabilities; may assume PM responsibilities.
• Build tools to help engineers implement secure practices in product and infrastructure.
• Leverage AI to automate Verkada’s security engineering practices.
• Collaborate with engineering leaders to set security goals and processes.
• Collaborate with the CISO and security team to grow Verkada's security programs.
• Share security knowledge via talks, blogs, and open source.
