Job summary

Together for Talent is seeking an experienced senior engineer to own full-stack development with a strong frontend focus. The role centers on Next.js, React, Tailwind CSS, with deployments on AWS, Vercel, and Cloudflare.

You’ll shape architecture and drive critical decisions in a lean, high-trust team. You will write documentation, design runbooks, and participate in security reviews while solving real scalability challenges.

Qualifications

• BSCS or equivalent technical degree preferred.
• 7-10+ years of professional software engineering experience at staff/principal level.
• Deep production experience with Next.js, React, Tailwind CSS and a modern cloud stack (AWS, Vercel, Cloudflare).
• Track record of driving technical decisions, not just participation.
• Strong documentation, security, and operational resilience instincts.
• Comfort at senior/staff scope even if title is not aligned.

Responsibilities

• Drive build-vs-buy and major architecture decisions with clear tradeoffs.
• Own technical documentation as deliverables: design docs and runbooks.
• Lead disaster recovery and incident response with DR planning.
• Incorporate threat modeling and access-control design, lead security reviews.
• Solve scalability challenges amid traffic spikes and data growth.
• Provide technical direction while remaining hands-on in the codebase.

Position Summary

This is a hands-on, full-stack role with real depth on the frontend. Our client's stack centers on Next.js, React, Tailwind CSS, and shadcn/ui, running on AWS, Vercel, and Cloudflare. You'll be joining a lean, high-trust engineering team where your decisions carry real weight, not just implementation, but the direction itself.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Drive build-vs-buy and major architecture/migration decisions, and be able to speak to the tradeoffs, not just the execution.
• Own technical documentation as a real deliverable, design docs, runbooks, and architecture decision records, not an afterthought.
• Lead on disaster recovery and incident response, including writing and executing DR plans.
• Bring security thinking beyond a checklist: threat modeling, access control design, and leading security reviews.
• Solve real scalability problems, whether that's traffic spikes, data growth, or architecture that needs to evolve under real-world pressure.
• Be the person the team turns to for technical direction, while staying genuinely hands-on in the codebase.

Education and Experience

• BSCS or equivalent technical degree preferred
• 7-10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including meaningful experience operating at the Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, Architect, or equivalent level
• Deep, production experience with Next.js, React, Tailwind CSS, and a modern cloud stack (AWS, Vercel, Cloudflare, or similar)
• A track record of driving specific technical decisions, not just participating in them, regardless of your current title
• Strong instincts around documentation, security, and operational resilience
• Comfortable operating at a senior/staff level of scope even if your title hasn't caught up yet.
