Job summary

Success Matcher Recruitment seeks a Staff Software Engineer to own and advance our platform architecture in San Francisco. You will lead multi-modal APIs, AI workflows, and data infrastructure while mentoring senior engineers and shaping the engineering culture.

Requirements include 8+ years in engineering, hands-on architecture, and a strong Node.js, Python, React background. On-site five days a week in San Francisco with top-tier compensation and equity are provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and lead core platform architecture, including multi-modal APIs, real-time event systems, AI orchestration layers, and data infrastructure.
• Architect production-grade agentic and conversational AI workflows (LLM integrations, retrieval pipelines, tool orchestration, and evaluations).
• Translate ambiguous product bets into clear engineering roadmaps and drive technical initiatives.
• Establish engineering standards for service contracts, observability, and reliability across the organization.
• Mentor senior engineers and integrate AI-native workflows (Claude Code, Cursor) across the engineering culture.

What You'll Need to Succeed

• Experience:More than 8 years of engineering experience, operating as a Staff Software Engineer
• 01 & Scale: Proven track record taking products from 0 to 1 at scale and owning critical domains end-to-end.
• Hands-on Architecture: Exceptional system design capabilities combined with active, daily hands-on coding skills.
• AI-Native Mindset: Daily, deep usage of frontier AI tools ("e.g., Cursor, Claude").
• Technical Stack: Strong proficiency in Node.js, Python, and React.
