The Role

As a Staff Software Engineer at .txt, you will develop and maintain our core tech infrastructure, impacting the efficiency and scalability of our products. You will work in a fast-paced environment, focusing on building robust backend systems with your expertise in distributed systems engineering. We seek a team player passionate about coding and continuous learning.

What You Will Do

1. Distributed Systems Engineering: Build and maintain efficient, reliable Python code for our LLM backend systems.
2. Work Well With Structured Generation: Collaborate with compiler and research engineers to integrate backend services with our guided generation methods.
3. Performance Optimization: Optimize backend components for high throughput, especially for data-intensive LLM operations.
4. Code Quality and Best Practices: Ensure high code quality through reviews, testing, and clear commit messages.

Qualifications

1. Open Source Contributor: Significant public work demonstrating relevant expertise.
2. Python Expertise: Professional experience with Python or Rust backend/systems development (FastAPI, Twisted, ASGI, etc.).
3. API Development: Understanding of web frameworks; ability to develop or customize them.
4. Large-Scale System Experience: Expertise in distributed systems and asynchronous network programming.
5. Expertise in Git: Proficiency in rebase and making understandable code changes.
