Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior data engineer to architect and deliver a Palantir Foundry-based data product for enterprise healthcare data. You will own ontology, data assets, and analytics engineering framework, shaping governance, security, and scalable pipelines.

Lead with hands-on PySpark, SQL, and Python, collaborating with product, analytics, operations, and engineering teams to drive impact and data-driven decision making.

• Lead architecture, design, and implementation of a Palantir Foundry-based data product


• Own the enterprise ontology, curated data assets, and analytics engineering framework


• Define and evolve the ontology using EHR, ERP, and related enterprise data sources


• Model clinical, operational, financial, and administrative entities and relationships


• Establish architecture standards, ontology design patterns, data contracts, engineering practices, and semantic modeling frameworks


• Design, implement, and optimize PySpark transformations, data pipelines, derived metrics, KPIs, and analytical datasets


• Drive data quality, governance, security, privacy, lineage, and auditability practices


• Lead architectural decisions and define strategies for scalability, reliability, performance, observability, and maintainability


• Collaborate with product, analytics, operations, data governance, and engineering teams


• Evaluate emerging technologies and platform capabilities


• Mentor engineers and analytics professionals


• Champion AI-assisted development and agentic engineering practices

Requirements

• Relevant degree preferred


• 7 or more years of relevant experience required


• Strong technical expertise in data engineering, analytics engineering, software engineering, data architecture, or platform engineering


• Experience designing and delivering large-scale distributed data platforms


• Strong understanding of agentic coding, AI-assisted development, and emerging AI technologies


• Experience with PySpark, Spark, Python, SQL, distributed data processing, production-grade data products, analytical datasets, and reusable transformation frameworks


• Understanding of entity relationship modeling, dimensional modeling, ontology development, domain-driven design, and enterprise data modeling


• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, version control, monitoring, documentation, and release management


• Experience designing scalable, secure, reliable, and governed data platforms


• Knowledge of data quality, lineage, observability, access controls, privacy, and regulatory compliance


• Ability to lead architectural decision-making, establish engineering standards, communicate technical tradeoffs, and influence technical direction


• Ability to translate complex healthcare, operational, financial, and business workflows into durable technical models


• Strong written and verbal communication skills


• Experience mentoring engineers and fostering technical excellence


• Hands‑on Palantir Foundry experience highly preferred, including ontology development, datasets, transforms, Code Repositories, object types, link types, functions, actions, security, and application enablement


• Healthcare data experience preferred, including EHR, ERP, FHIR, HL7, Epic, Oracle Health, claims, provider, financial, operational, and clinical data


• Experience designing enterprise semantic layers, governed metric frameworks, certified datasets, enterprise reporting foundations, or large-scale ontology implementations preferred
