Jobtailor in New York seeks an experienced Enterprise Data & AI Architect to own enterprise-wide, data-driven information systems and drive AI-enabled architecture strategies. You will lead design decisions, align architectures with business goals, and shape roadmaps for scalable data platforms.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related technical discipline.
10 years leading complex Data Pipeline and Analytics architectures on the cloud.
6+ years hands-on data-centric software development on complex architectures.
Experience with AI/ML technologies including generative AI and model orchestration.
Experience securing data solutions involving PHI/PII and governance.

Job description

Own technical solution requirements for enterprise-wide, data-driven information systems
Create technical designs, product and vendor selections, application architectures, and technical architectures
Provide technology and platform subject matter expertise and lead technical decision processes
Own complex technology implementations and continuously reengineer and refactor systems
Align technical design and architecture with business growth and direction
Contribute to product roadmaps, backlogs, measurable success criteria, and user stories
Enhance and maintain systems and solutions architecture for large data processing and reporting systems
Design complex data, data-centric application, and Big Data cloud architecture solutions
Develop solutions using Agile frameworks, AnalyticOps, DataOps, and DevSecOps hyper-automation
Lead continuous innovation and improvement and advocate for consumer-driven engineering
Serve as final-tier subject matter expert while remaining directly engaged in execution
Collaborate with the program Chief Architect and potentially augment the Deputy Chief Architect role for AI implementation and adoption
Lead and manage individuals and teams through coaching, mentoring, 1:1 meetings, and career growth support
Configure enterprise-grade platforms for AI feature management, governance, and model orchestration
Maintain full-lifecycle AI governance covering policy, risk, bias/fairness, audit logging, transparency, immutability, and regulatory compliance
Integrate platforms with CI/CD pipelines, identity and access controls, APIs, repositories, and monitoring systems
Implement enterprise deployment models securing data and AI across PII/PHI, access control, and authorization
Train teams and end users, develop onboarding and adoption materials, and lead AI workflow workshops
Build consensus among data science, DevSecOps, compliance, business, and end-user stakeholders
Evaluate and recommend generative AI, LLM, and agentic frameworks
Design, prototype, and iterate AI agent workflows and proofs of concept
Track emerging generative AI and agentic tools, vendors, and best practices
Occasional travel for training and project meetings

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Math, or another related scientific or technical discipline; with ten years of general information technology experience and at least four years of specialized experience, a degree is not required
Minimum of 10 years of leading system architecture of complex Data Pipeline and Analytics systems on the cloud
6+ years of hands-on data-centric software development experience and designing solutions on complex architectures
Strong software engineering experience, including engineering best practices and iterative/continuous engineering principles
Experience with Databricks, Hadoop, EMR, Spark, Redshift, or similar technologies
Experience applying AI/ML technologies, including generative AI, LLMs, or model orchestration, within enterprise-scale architectures
Experience with data augmentation, data quality analysis, data analytics, data profiling, data algorithms, data maturity models, and data strategy recommendations
Experience designing secure data solutions involving PHI and PII and associated governance
Experience collaborating with customers and stakeholders to present solutions and drive user adoption
Experience designing cost-optimized, scalable cloud solutions
Experience resolving architecture issues affecting scalability and performance for large-scale systems and datasets
Experience with rapid prototyping and greenfield project creation
Experience aligning consensus across multiple interested or affected groups
Consulting experience across client environments
Experience with Atlassian Jira/Confluence
Excellent verbal and written communication
Experience working in an Agile or SAFe environment
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust
Must reside in the United States
Desired: Medicare, Medicaid, healthcare, commercial insurance, or CMS experience
Desired: Databricks, coding, AWS Cloud, and AI/ML architecture certifications or training
Desired: Generative AI applications, LLM integration, prompt engineering, RAG, agentic workflows, LangChain, LlamaIndex, Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Vertex AI, Pinecone, MCP, or A2A experience
