Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for a 100% remote role in the United States. The candidate will lead complex, cross-team engineering initiatives, architect scalable backend systems, and drive reliability and observability across cloud-based platforms.

We require 12+ years of experience, a CS degree, and a proven track record of mentoring engineers while influencing engineering culture and standards.

Staff Software Engineer - Remote

Job Title: Staff Software Engineer

Location: 100% Remote (U.S.)

Position Type: Full-time, Direct W2

Salary Range: $100,000–$180,000 Annually

Experience Required: 12+ years

Sponsorship: U.S. Citizens, Green Card Holders, EAD Holders, and H-1B transfer candidates are encouraged to apply. We are unable to sponsor new H-1B visa petitions for this position.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 12 or more years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven track record of leading complex, cross-team engineering initiatives.
• Deep expertise in at least one of distributed systems, cloud platforms, or large-scale data systems.
• Strong programming skills in at least one major backend language.
• Excellent system-design and architecture skills.
• Demonstrated mentorship and technical leadership of senior engineers.
• Strong understanding of operational excellence, reliability, and observability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Track record of influencing engineering culture and standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience driving multi-year platform modernization initiatives.
• Public technical contributions (talks, papers, OSS) in relevant areas.
• Hands-on experience operating large-scale production systems.
• Exposure to building engineering organizations as well as platforms.
• Familiarity with FinOps and cost-aware engineering practices.
