Procore is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Mobile BFF team within the Mobile division. This role leads architecture of GraphQL BFF services powering hospital, home, stadium, and school applications worldwide. Hybrid work model; reporting to a Manager, Software Engineering in Austin, TX.

You''ll mentor engineers, set development standards, and drive performance and resilience while collaborating with backend teams and mobile engineers across the organization.

Formación

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering fundamentals, including strong system design skills.
• Deep proficiency in backend development with Ruby on Rails, Node.js, or Java; hands-on GraphQL or other BFF/API-layer experience is a strong plus.
• Proven technical leadership with a track record of serving as a tech lead and influencing technical direction beyond your immediate team scope.
• Experience with large-scale systems, including managing platforms and infrastructure that support thousands of hosts and millions of users.
• Experience building and maintaining modern CI/CD systems in a large-scale environment.
• Ability to balance immediate business needs with strategic, long-term technical investments, and to effectively communicate architectural trade-offs.
• Strong collaborative and communication skills, with a knack for collaborating effectively across teams.
• Experience working closely with mobile teams or hands-on iOS/Android development experience is a strong plus.

We're looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join the Mobile BFF team within Procore's Mobile division. In this role, you'll use your technical leadership and engineering skills to develop products that impact how hospitals, homes, sports stadiums, and schools across the world are built. The Mobile division builds the native iOS and Android experiences construction teams rely on every day, and this team owns the GraphQL Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) services that power those apps — translating fundamental customer needs into fast, reliable mobile experiences.

As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll serve as the technical lead for the Mobile BFF team, owning the architecture and direction of the GraphQL BFF services that drive our customer-facing mobile applications. You'll bring deep expertise in distributed systems, test-driven development, and modern web development to drive sound technical decisions, collaborate with partner teams across the division, and extend your influence broadly across the organization.

This position is hybrid and reports to a Manager, Software Engineering based in Austin, TX.

Additional Information

Base Pay Range:

168,560.00 - 231,770.00 USD Annual

This role may also be eligible for Equity Compensation and/or Bonus Incentive Compensation. Procore is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location.
