Job summary

Leap Tools is a remote-first company building advanced interior décor solutions, including Roomvo technology that lets customers preview products in their own spaces. We seek an experienced technical leader to steer the QFloors-to-ERP migration and guide architecture across Windows desktop, Azure, Django, and Next.js.

You will own strategic direction, mentor engineers, and partner with leadership to shape the roadmap.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience building scalable systems.
• Experience leading multi-team migrations or re-platforming with live users and data.
• Strong CS fundamentals: algorithms, data structures, networking, and databases.
• Strong data modelling and multi-tenant database design.
• Ability to design distributed services with observability and fault tolerance.
• Strong architectural instincts and the ability to make high-leverage technical decisions.
• Exceptional ownership mindset and ability to drive initiatives forward.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• Design six-plus months ahead to anticipate team needs and identify foundational investments
• Drive large projects to completion while staying hands-on in the code
• Elicit requirements and lead design discussions across Windows desktop, Azure, Django, and Next.js
• Evaluate competing approaches on quality risk and guide teams to the best solution
• Set the bar for code reviews and mentor engineers across all technologies
• Keep the platform observable, scalable, and cost-effective
• Partner with engineering leadership on the roadmap and technical vision
• Drive the design and architecture of complex backend systems for 3D and computer vision experiences

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience building and operating scalable, reliable systems
• Proven track record of leading multi-team migrations or re-platforming with live users and data
• Deep understanding of computer science fundamentals: algorithms, data structures, networking, and databases
• Strong data modelling and relational database skills, including multi-tenant schema design
• Ability to design distributed services with performance, observability, and fault tolerance
• Strong architectural instincts and the ability to make high-leverage technical decisions
• Exceptional ownership mindset and ability to drive initiatives forward
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ERP, accounting, or business management software
• Experience building and maintaining Windows desktop applications (C++ or similar)
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure infrastructure
• Experience with Python and Django
• Familiarity with the current technology stack
