Base pay range

$37.00/hr - $45.00/hr

Position: STAFF SITE HEALTH & SAFETY SPECIALIST

Location: Reading, PA
Duration: Long-term contract

Responsibilities:

1. Support the site project management team to deliver project-specific Safety & Health programs at the field location.
2. Create and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe, healthy, and incident-free work site in a heavy construction environment.
3. Monitor Safety & Health activities on field construction projects to verify operations are conducted safely.
4. Respond to questions and concerns related to site-specific safety and health compliance issues.
5. Maintain compliance with OSHA, ANSI, NIOSH, CoE, NEC, and other relevant regulations.
6. Investigate actions related to work stoppages due to safety concerns.
7. Report safety and health concerns and present findings to the project management team.
8. Communicate with the client Safety & Health department regarding safety issues and coordinate preventative measures.
9. Conduct safety assessments with subcontractor safety personnel and document findings.
10. Manage and document safety activities requiring immediate correction.
11. Prepare safety-related documents and assist with safety training sessions.
12. Review incident reports and recommend countermeasures.
13. Ensure safety records are audit-ready and maintained properly.
14. Drive to various project sites as needed.
15. Perform other duties as assigned and ensure compliance with policies and standards.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or Construction Management with 3 years of experience, OR
2. Associate Degree with 5 years of experience, OR
3. High School Diploma/GED with 7 years of experience in construction safety or related fields.

Additional requirements include knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, NIOSH, Army Corps of Engineers standards, proficiency with Microsoft Office, excellent communication skills, willingness to work various schedules, valid driver's license, and OSHA safety training certification (10-hour or 30-hour).
