Job description

Are you looking to work on problems where the infrastructure you build has a direct, measurable impact on real trading outcomes?

We are hiring a Staff SRE or Production Engineer into one of the most technically demanding environments in finance. You will be joining the core reliability function of a top-tier quantitative trading desk in New York, working on the distributed infrastructure that processes millions of market events per second.

This is not traditional ops work. You will be embedded with elite C++ engineers, quants, and traders, shaping decisions from kernel tuning to automated failover policy. The standards are high, the ownership is real, and your work is visible in the P&L.

What you will be working on
  • Hardening and automating globally distributed, latency-critical production infrastructure
  • Performance tuning across the full stack: CPU, memory, networking, and storage
  • Designing and owning observability, deployment, and recovery tooling from the ground up
  • Building and evolving monitoring systems that give real-time visibility into trading environment health
  • Collaborating directly with software engineers and researchers on reliability and system design
  • Driving automation that reduces operational overhead and eliminates failure modes at the root
What we are looking for
  • Strong background in large-scale distributed systems reliability, automation, and performance tuning
  • Deep Linux internals knowledge: kernel tuning, networking, memory management, storage
  • Solid programming skills in Python, C++ and Rust are nice to haves
  • Experience in latency-sensitive or high-throughput production environments
  • The ability to work closely with engineering and research teams, not just operate systems
  • A low-ego, ownership-driven approach with the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders
Why this is different
  • Every optimisation you deliver feeds directly into desk profitability and your own compensation
  • Green-field influence over observability, deployment, and recovery tooling with no legacy debt to fight
  • Direct line of sight between your work and live trading outcomes
  • Compensation meaningfully above standard tech bands
  • Access to some of the strongest engineers in the industry in a flat, high-trust environment

If you want a role where the engineering bar is as high as it gets and your work actually matters, this is it.
