Job summary

A leading technology company is seeking a Staff Site Reliability Engineer to join its New York City office. In this role, you'll be responsible for architecting and owning the reliability and infrastructure strategy across multiple teams, driving cross-functional initiatives, and setting standards for operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with large-scale production systems and strong skills in distributed systems architecture. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range of $240K to $300K, alongside a comprehensive benefits and perks package.

The role

As a Staff Site Reliability Engineer you'll play a lead role on the founding SRE team at our new NYC engineering hub. You'll own multi-team reliability and infrastructure architecture, drive cross-functional initiatives, and set the standard for operational excellence across Legora’s platform, partnering closely with teams in Stockholm.

This is a New York-based, 5-day in-office role. We believe building together in person drives better outcomes.

What you will be doing:

• Architect and own reliability and infrastructure strategy across multiple teams and services
• Own the observability, capacity planning, and monitoring strategy for complex distributed systems
• Define and evolve SLI/SLO frameworks, error budgets, and production readiness standards org-wide
• Lead incident management practices, escalation design, and drive systemic improvements from post-mortems
• Champion toil reduction, on‑call sustainability, and long-term system resilience
• Partner across engineering to lead design reviews and raise the bar on deployment safety and operational quality
