Job Description And Duties
Under the general direction of the District Budget Manager (DBM), a Staff Services Manager II, the incumbent is fully responsible for direct supervision of the District Resource Management Unit and serves as the Assistant Budget Manager ( SSM I). The incumbent supervises staff responsible for managing and monitoring the district's program allocations and expenditures, and is considered a working level administrator. The incumbent serves as the district's subject matter expert on budgetary policies and practices. The incumbent is responsible for managing and monitoring the district's program allocations and expenditures as the fiscal year progresses. Expenditures are monitored against allocations and expected expenditures pattern for the various programs for which District 7 receives allocation. The incumbent prepares monthly expenditure plans for the management of district resources, prepares periodic allocation and expenditure reports as requested by District Management or the Departmental Budget Office, performs fund source monitoring, and performs the more difficult and complex research and analysis of fiscal information as a tool in managing the district support budget. As a technical expert, the SSM I assists the Budget Office in all facets of budget development and financial administration.
