Job summary

SciTec, a dynamic non-traditional defense contractor, seeks a Staff - Senior Systems Engineer in Boulder, CO to lead MBSE-enabled MOSA data processing architectures.

You will elicit operational concepts, refine requirements, and craft hardware/software integration designs in collaboration with customers and SciTec staff. A DoD clearance readiness and STEM degree are required, with leadership experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience in software engineering, HPC, or remote sensing data processing.
• Experience in executing IEEE 15288 systems engineering processes.
• Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering and Cameo Tool suite.
• Experience as a technical team leader.

Responsibilities

• Elicit, detail, and document operational concepts and stakeholder needs for MOSA hosting high-performance data processing applications.
• Develop and analyze system requirements addressing stakeholder needs.
• Support design of system architectures that meet requirements and align with customer concepts of operations.
• Coordinate with integration, verification, and test teams for requirements verification and validation.
• Document operational concepts, stakeholders needs, system requirements, and architectures using MBSE tools.

SciTec has an immediate opportunity in our Boulder, CO office for a [Staff - Senior] Systems Engineering with experience in microservices architectures, data center designs, and modular open systems architecture. This engineer will be responsible for elaborating operational concepts, refine requirements, and create architectural designs to support the delivery of a combined hardware/software data processing system. This work will be performed collaboratively with both customer representatives and with SciTec technical staff.

Responsibilities

• Elicit, detail, and document operational concepts and stakeholder needs for the operation of a MOSA architecture hosting high-performance data processing applications.
• Development and analysis of system requirements which address identified stakeholder needs.
• Support to SciTec development teams in the design of system architectures which meet established requirements and align with customer concepts of operations.
• Coordination with integration, verification, and test teams to support requirements verification and validation.
• Documenting operational concepts, stakeholder needs, system requirements, and system architectures using Model-Based Systems Engineering tools
• Additional duties as required and assigned

Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
• A Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience in software engineering, high-performance computing, or remote sensing data processing
• Demonstrated work experience in executing IEEE 15288 systems engineering processes
• Demonstrated familiarity with the use of Model Based Systems Engineering within a systems engineering organization, particularly the Cameo Tool suite
• Demonstrated work experience as a technical team leader

Candidates who have any of the following skills will be preferred

• A current security clearance, ideally a current TOP SECRET clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information
• Academic credentials or industry certification (e.g. INCOSE) in systems engineering.
• Experience with the design or operation of data center environments
• Experience with the design or operation of Kubernetes-based environments
• Experience with the design or operation of Overhead Persistent Infrared sensor systems, ground segments, or exploitation tooling
• Experience with tactical data links and communications networks
• Experience with conducting data-driven trade studies, including the development and use of simulation tools.

The pay range for this position is $102,000 - $157,000 / year. SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
