Job description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Staff / Senior Product Engineer to lead and support the development, improvement, and lifecycle management of innovative products. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate customer and business requirements into practical, high-quality engineering solutions.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and experience managing products from concept through design, testing, manufacturing, and continuous improvement.

Product Design and Development
  • Lead the design, development, and improvement of new and existing products.
  • Translate customer, market, and business requirements into engineering specifications and product solutions.
  • Develop product concepts, designs, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Evaluate product performance, functionality, quality, and manufacturability throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Support product testing, validation, and design verification activities.
Engineering Analysis and Problem Solving
  • Analyze product performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Investigate technical issues and develop practical, effective engineering solutions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Evaluate materials, components, and manufacturing processes to improve product quality, performance, reliability, and cost.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with manufacturing, quality, operations, supply chain, sales, and other teams throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Support the transition of new products and design changes into production.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address technical requirements and product challenges.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams and other engineering personnel.
Product Lifecycle Management
  • Manage engineering activities from product concept through launch, production, and ongoing improvement.
  • Support engineering changes, product updates, and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate engineering documentation, specifications, drawings, and technical records.
  • Monitor product performance and recommend improvements based on testing, customer feedback, and operational data.
Continuous Improvement and Technical Leadership
  • Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, product development methods, and manufacturing performance.
  • Support design reviews, technical evaluations, and risk assessments.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers as appropriate.
  • Contribute to the development of engineering standards, best practices, and innovative solutions.
Prerequisites
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Progressive engineering experience in product development, product design, manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting products through the full development and lifecycle process.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with product testing, validation, and design verification.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, materials, manufacturing processes, and product performance requirements.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and managing multiple engineering priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative environment.
  • Senior-level candidates should demonstrate advanced technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and experience leading complex engineering initiatives.
Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
  • Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Certified Product Manager or other relevant product development certifications.
